Custom brand domain of affiliate portal
Create your custom domain
By default, your affiliate portal exists on our subdomain (e.g. yourdomain.recomsale.com). Our Growth plan allows you to use custom domains (e.g. affiliate.yourdomain.com, partners.youdomain.com, ambassador.yourdomain.com) so that you can not only remove “recomsale.com” from the URL of your affiliate portal and go completely white label RecomSale and also display your affiliate portal in a more branded and personalized way.
Please refer to the following 3 steps to complete the setting of the custom domain:
Step 1. Create CNAME record
Create a CNAME record for your desired domain (e.g. affiliate.yourdomain.com) and point it to partners.recomsale.com
Steps to create CNAME records at common domain service providers:
Shopify
If your domain name registrar is Shopify, please go to Shopify > Settings > Domains and click on it.
Here, if you want to display the affiliate portal as affiliate.yourdomain.com, enter affiliate in the "Name" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as partners.yourdomain.com, enter partners in the "Name" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as ambassador.yourdomain.com, enter ambassador in the "Name" field.
The "Points to" field should always be filled in as partners.recomsale.com
GoDaddy
If your domain name registrar is GoDaddy, please go to GoDaddy > Account Settings > My Products and click on it.
Here, if you want to display the affiliate portal as affiliate.yourdomain.com, enter affiliate in the "Name" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as partners.yourdomain.com, enter partners in the "Name" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as ambassador.yourdomain.com, enter ambassador in the "Name" field.
The "Value" field should always be filled in as partners.recomsale.com
Cloudflare
If your domain name registrar is Cloudflare, please go to Cloudflare > Websites and click on it.
Here, if you want to display the affiliate portal as affiliate.yourdomain.com, enter affiliate in the "Name" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as partners.yourdomain.com, enter partners in the "Name" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as ambassador.yourdomain.com, enter ambassador in the "Name" field.
The "Target" field should always be filled in as partners.recomsale.com
If you already added a CNAME whose Proxy status is Proxied and not DNS only, please edit it here:
Name.com
If your domain name registrar is Name.com, please go to Name.com > My Domains and click on it.
Here, if you want to display the affiliate portal as affiliate.yourdomain.com, enter affiliate in the "HOST" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as partners.yourdomain.com, enter partners in the "HOST" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as ambassador.yourdomain.com, enter ambassador in the "HOST" field.
The "ANSWER" field should always be filled in as partners.recomsale.com
Namecheap
If your domain name registrar is Namecheap, please go to Namecheap > Domain List and click on it.
Here, if you want to display the affiliate portal as affiliate.yourdomain.com, enter affiliate in the "Host" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as partners.yourdomain.com, enter partners in the "Host" field.
if you want to display the affiliate portal as ambassador.yourdomain.com, enter ambassador in the "Host" field.
The "Value" field should always be filled in as partners.recomsale.com
Step 2. Wait for CNAME record to take effect
Please note that it takes up to 24 hours for the CNAME record to take effect, please be patient~
You can also proactively use the 👉 CNAME lookup tool to double-check whether the CNAME is valid.
Enter your custom domain
✅ Your CNAME is correct:
When the result is correct, please proceed to step 3.
⛔️ Your CNAME is incorrect:
When the result is incorrect, the possible reason is that DNS is being resolved, please wait up to 24 hours before trying again.
Step 3. Backfill your custom domain
Go to RecomSale App > Settings > Affiliate portal, fill in the brand domain you just customized and click Submit to complete the custom domain.
Finally, since the custom domain also needs to generate an SSL security certificate, please contact us through App Live Chat and we will quickly generate an SSL security certificate for you for free.
What to do after creating custom domain successfully?
Rest assured, there is no special action required on your part. The affiliate login link on your affiliate sign-up page and in the affiliate notification emails will automatically be replaced with your custom domain, and your affiliates will see the affiliate portal for your custom domain. Additionally, your affiliate portals that exist on our subdomains (such as yourdomain.recomsale.com) are not affected and remain accessible.
